Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

Last year, Jockstrap released their much-anticipated debut I Love You Jennifer B. A culmination of the intriguing experimentalism they’ve been honing over the years with the project, the album is a bold testament to the London-based duo’s genuine creative idiosyncracy and oddball expression. One that sees them embrace maximalism and playful theatricality with unfiltered glee, sonically weaving a decadent tapestry that takes in chamber pop, experimental electronics, trip-hop and a healthy dose of absurdism.

Following a stacked summer of festivals that has seen the duo – aka Taylor Skye and Georgia Ellery – travelling all over Europe, Jockstrap head to Bristol to perform at the second edition of Forwards Festival. Taking place on Clifton Downs on 1 and 2 September, the pair play the Saturday alongside the likes of Aphex Twin, Obongjayar, Amyl and the Sniffers and Scalping.

In true Jockstrap fashion, their Selections playlist offers an expansive exploration of dance music and hints at another forthcoming expansion of the duo’s vivid and vast sonic world. Here, the pair have curated an “A-Z of dance music”, they tell us, “some very special music here. Some letters were quite hard like z and q. This playlist foreshadows a release coming soon.” Get locked in below and catch Jockstrap at Forwards Festival in Bristol next weekend.
